We conduct interdisciplinary research in the fields of spatial planning and urban sociology (SSH), integrating social, environmental, and technological aspects. We place particular emphasis on the development of social housing, including senior housing, as well as on the design of low-carbon and resilient urban environments. Our activities also include modelling the carbon footprint of urban areas, with a particular focus on low-emission land-use practices. In our research, we use satellite data, GIS analyses, and AI tools to diagnose urban challenges and support decision-making processes.
RESEARCH AREAS:
- we conduct research in urban planning and urban social studies integrating SSH
- we develop urban carbon footprint modellig incl. low carbon land uses
- we use remote sensing data and AI-tools to diagnose urban challenges
